Privacy Policy

This policy covers the tivel phone app (iOS, Android) and the tivel TV app (Android TV, LG webOS), made by Neuros Studio.

In short

No account is required; we do not collect your identity, name, e-mail address or phone number.
We do not send personal data to our own servers and we do no advertising or analytics tracking.
Your settings, IPTV playlist, profiles and watch history are stored only on your own devices.

IPTV playlist: the M3U address or Xtream credentials you add are stored on your phone and TV and are used only to connect to the provider you chose. tivel does not provide any content.
Profiles, favourites, watch history, resume points, weekly report: kept only on your phone and TV and synced between them over your home network.
TV pairing data: the pairing key your TV issues is stored on your phone so it can control the TV.

Local network: to find and control the TV in your home.
Microphone and speech recognition (optional): for voice search. Audio is not stored; recognition is done by your phone's operating-system speech service.
Motion sensors (optional): for the air mouse and "shake to pick a film"; the data never leaves the device.
Photos, add-only (optional): to save frames you capture from the TV to your gallery.
Notifications (optional): for match and new-episode reminders, scheduled on your device.
Android TV — app list and "TV listings" permission: to show your TV's apps, continue-watching items from other apps and TV channels on the tivel home screen. This information stays on the TV.
Android TV — Accessibility service (optional): used only to notice that the remote's Home button was pressed and which app came to the front, so the tivel home screen can open. It does not read screen content, does not see what you type and does not record other buttons; nothing is stored or sent. It works only after your explicit consent in the app and can be turned off at any time.

Some features connect your device directly to these services, which are governed by their own privacy policies:

TMDB (The Movie Database): movie and series information, artwork and where to watch ("what to watch", search). When you search, the search term is sent to TMDB. Where-to-watch data is provided by JustWatch.
Wikidata: identifier matching to open a title in the right app.
Weather (TV home screen): approximate location estimated from the IP address (ipapi), weather from Open-Meteo.
YouTube and other apps: free official streams and "open on TV" links open in the respective app on your TV.
App Store / Google Play: in-app purchases are processed by the stores; we never see your payment details.

tivel is not directed at children. The kids profile lets parents limit what their children see; no data is collected from children.

Because everything is stored on your devices, deleting the app or clearing its data removes it all. We keep no records about you on our servers.
